 Early life



 Procter was born October 8 in 1968. She was adopted at the age of a baby by William Procter, a general practitioner as well as Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker, and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was just three years old when her parents separated. She has an older brothernamed Whit, who is also adopted.



 



 Ravenscroft School, Raleigh was Procter's primary school. While attending East Carolina University, Procter became a member Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Procter worked as a anchor on news for WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. After graduation, she earned degrees in journalism dance.
